Korg DDD-1

The DDD-1 was all the rage when it appeared during the second half of the eighties, with its sampled sounds, velocity sensitive pads, four card slots for extra sounds and an optional sampling device. Today it's not that hot. Even SHotQ, noted adorers of old equipment, don't find the DDD's type of sampled drum sounds very attractive.

However, our DDD-1 is permanently connected as MIDI-to-Trig converter, and delivers trig clock to Roland SH-101 when needed. Excellent for synchronizing Rolle's sequencer, arpeggiator or LFO to song tempo, etc. You can select high or low trig signal, which also makes it possible to trigger the Brass envelope on the Trident, for example.

Of course, we have used the sounds of the DDD-1 here and there as well. For example, it can be heard on a couple of occasions in our first number "Limehouse Blues" and during the scat song on "Trickeration".
