Jumpin at the WoodsideListen (2.1 MB)Disclaimer! This is not a "real" SHotQ recording! Everything is done by "cheating", with equipment not only digital but computer-based! In clear text, this is a jazz recording done with the eminent but non-ideologic computer application Reason 2.0. Still, we thought it would be nice to release this little digital abomination to our thirsting audience - it swings, after all! About the songJumpin at the Woodside was a hit number for the original Count Basie band of the thirties. This band represented the rough and hot Kansas City-limb of the great swing tree, and held legendary performers such as Lester Young and Hershel Evans (tenor saxes), Buck Clayton and Harry "Sweets" Edison (trumpets), Walter Page (bass), Freddie Green (guitar) and Papa Jo Jones (drums). If you feel a need for more transistor jazz of the K.C. kind, please try out our recording of Topsy. |
